Introductory Dive in Eilat: Your Gateway to the Underwater World
If you have ever dreamed of breathing underwater and seeing the wonders of the Red Sea up close, an introductory dive in Eilat is the perfect way to start. It is a unique experience that allows you to dive into the depths of the spectacular reef without the need for prior experience or formal certification. At our diving club, we prioritize safety, professionalism, and pure enjoyment to ensure your first encounter with the deep is unforgettable.
Eilat’s coral reef is world-renowned for its incredible abundance of fish and the rare, vibrant colors of its corals. During your introductory dive, your private instructor will guide you every step of the way, showing you the amazing sights hidden beneath the surface and ensuring you enjoy the experience in the safest and most relaxing manner possible.
Our Unique Dive Sites at the Coral Reef Reserve
Our dives take place at the most beautiful sites along Eilat’s southern coast, offering breathtaking natural scenery:
Tamar Reef is a spectacular artificial reef teeming with colorful fish and soft corals. Considered unique within Eilat and all of Israel, this reef is truly one-of-a-kind. It is located at our home base, allowing for quick and convenient access directly from the shore. The "Eel Garden" is a fascinating area on the seabed where hundreds of garden eels emerge from holes in the sand, creating a breathtaking spectacle. This rare natural phenomenon—unique in the country—is a highlight for our beginner divers.
Who is an introductory dive for, and what does it include?
An introductory dive in Eilat is designed for beginners without prior certification who wish to experience the wondrous sensation of weightlessness and an exciting encounter with underwater creatures for the first time. These dives can be scheduled and conducted any day of the week during daylight hours.
The activity takes place at the Coral Beach Nature Reserve, a protected site teeming with marine life. The dive is open to anyone aged 8 to 88, provided they are in good health suitable for recreational diving. It is important to note that an introductory dive in Eilat is a completely private experience, conducted one-on-one with a personal instructor. We offer two options for the duration of the underwater experience:
A short introductory dive, including 25 minutes of actual underwater time.
A full introductory dive, including a minimum of 45 minutes underwater for an enhanced experience.
The entire activity at the dive center—including registration, equipment fitting, and a professional safety briefing—lasts approximately two hours. You can opt to include professional underwater still photography or video services during the dive to capture your exciting moments in the depths.
**FAQs About Introductory Dives in Eilat**
**Do I need to know how to swim to do an introductory dive?** Advanced swimming skills are not required. Your personal instructor holds onto you and controls the equipment and buoyancy throughout the dive. However, it is important to feel comfortable in the water and know how to perform basic kicking movements.
**What happens if I feel pressure in my ears during the dive?** During the pre-dive briefing, the instructor will teach you a simple technique to equalize the pressure in your ears. The instructor remains in contact with you at all times; if you feel any discomfort, they will pause or ascend slightly until the pressure is relieved.
**Can I do an introductory dive as part of a group?** The actual underwater dive is always conducted on a one-on-one basis with an instructor to ensure maximum safety. If you arrive as a couple or a family, you can enter the water simultaneously—each with your own instructor—or one after the other, depending on instructor availability.
**What should I bring to the dive center?** All you need to bring is a swimsuit, a towel, and a signed health declaration (which can be filled out on-site). We provide all the necessary professional diving equipment, including a wetsuit, mask, fins, and tanks.
**Does an introductory dive count towards a diving course?** An introductory dive is purely an experiential activity and does not grant a diving certification. However, once you complete the dive and discover how enjoyable it is, we would be happy to offer you the option to proceed directly to the 1-Star diving course, enabling you to dive independently in the future.
